¿Dónde conseguías drogas?
–Mi proveedor era un miembro de la Lavender Hill Mob, la Mafia Gay de Los Angeles. Una noche se quedó sin cocaína. Esa fue la noche que conocí a Eddie Nash. El debe haber invertido diez mil dólares de cocaína en mí. Una vez que quedé enganchado, empecé a pagar. Ganó unos 750 mil dólares de mi dinero con su inversión.
¿Tenías alguna otra conexión para conseguir drogas?
–Sí, también le compraba cocaína a la gente de la Avenida Wonderland. Eran adictos a la heroína que vivían en un campamento armado. Tenían dos armas antiguas robadas que valían 25.000 dólares, y que yo le llevé a Nash a cambio de mil dólares de heroína. Todo lo que tenían que hacer para recuperar las armas era llevar los mil dólares. Pero cada vez que tenían suficiente dinero, llamaban a otro contacto para gastarlo con él. Así que las armas estuvieron en lo de Nash una semana, dos semanas, seis semanas. Eddie quería su dinero; la gente de Wonderland quería recuperar sus armas, y yo estaba justo en el medio. Ahí fue que la gente de Wonderland tuvo la idea de robarle a Eddie Nash. Se iban a meter en su casa, saquear el lugar y matar a todo el mundo. Yo sabía que si se lo contaba a Eddie, él mandaría a su gente y entonces sería la gente de Wonderland la que terminaría siendo asesinada. Yo estaba entre la espada y la pared. Así que accedí a dejar abierta una puerta corrediza de vidrio en lo de Eddie Nash si la gente de Wonderland Avenue me garantizaba que nadie saldría lastimado. Le robaron a Eddie Nash y se llevaron heroína, cocaína, joyas, 10 mil dólares en efectivo y las armas antiguas. El día posterior al robo fui torturado durante 14 horas por Nash y ocho de sus guardaespaldas mientras 60 o 70 personas entraban y salían de su casa para hacer sus compras habituales de drogas. Yo estaba sentado al lado del hall de entrada con mis manos atadas con cinta adhesiva negra. Mi boca sangraba en el lugar en el que Eddie me había golpeado con una pistola. Nadie me saludaba. A la mañana siguiente cuatro personas fueron golpeadas hasta morir en la Avenida Wonderland Avenue, y otra mujer fue dada por muerta.
Tras rehusarte a contarle al jurado lo que viste exactamente en Wonderland, pasaste 110 días preso antes de decidirte a testificar. ¿Qué fue lo que te decidió a hacerlo?
–Recibí un mensaje de la gente que antes había amenazado mi vida en caso de que testificara. Me dijeron que ya podía hablar.
¿Cómo lidiaste con la idea de quedar encerrado para siempre?
–La idea de estar sin libertad era desesperante. Durante el juicio conseguí meter una hoja de afeitar en la cárcel y estaba más que preparado para matarme si me encontraban culpable. Planeaba cortarme la yugular. De esa manera, morir sólo toma seis minutos. El mismo día que me declararon inocente yo estaba listo para matarme esa noche.

THE X FILES: I WANT TO BELIEVE

- The truth is finally out there about the new "X-Files" movie title.

The second big-screen spinoff of the paranormal TV adventure will be called "The X-Files: I Want to Believe," Chris Carter, the series' creator and the movie's director and co-writer, told The Associated Press.

Distributor 20th Century Fox signed off on the title Wednesday.

The title is a familiar phrase for fans of the series that starred David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson as FBI agents chasing after aliens and supernatural happenings. "I Want to Believe" was the slogan on a poster Duchovny's UFO-obsessed agent Fox Mulder had hanging in the cluttered basement office where he and Anderson's Dana Scully worked.

"It's a natural title," Carter said in a telephone interview Tuesday during a break from editing the film. "It's a story that involves the difficulties in mediating faith and science. 'I Want to Believe.' It really does suggest Mulder's struggle with his faith."

"I Want to Believe" comes 10 years after the first film and six years after the finale of the series, whose opening credits for much of its nine-year run featured the catch-phrase "the truth is out there."

Due in theaters July 25, the movie will not deal with aliens or the intricate mythology about interaction between humans and extraterrestrials that the show built up over the years, Carter said.

Instead, it casts Mulder and Scully into a stand-alone, earth-bound story aimed at both serious "X-Files" fans and newcomers, he said.

"It has struck me over the last several years talking to college-age kids that a lot of them really don't know the show or haven't seen it," Carter said. "If you're 20 years old now, the show started when you were 4. It was probably too scary for you or your parents wouldn't let you watch it. So there's a whole new audience that might have liked the show. This was made to, I would call it, satisfy everyone."

Hardcore fans need not worry that the movie will be going back to square one, though, Carter said. The movie will be true to the spirit of the show and everything Mulder and Scully went through, he said.

"The reason we're even making the movie is for the rabid fans, so we don't want to insult them by having to take them back through the concept again," Carter said.

Carter said he settled on "I Want to Believe" from the time he and co-writer Frank Spotnitz started on the screenplay. It took so long to go public with it because studio executives wanted to make sure it was a marketable title, he said.

The filmmakers have kept the story tightly under wraps to prevent plot spoilers from leaking on the Internet, a phenomenon that barely existed when the first movie came out in 1998.

"We went to almost comical lengths to keep the story a secret," Carter said. "That included allowing only the key crew members to read the script, and they had to read it in a room that had video cameras trained on them. It was a new experience."

Dennis Lynn Rader (born March 9, 1945) is an American serial killer who murdered 10 people in Sedgwick County (in and around Wichita), Kansas, between 1974 and 1991. He was known as the BTK killer (or the BTK strangler), which stands for Bind, Torture and Kill, which describes his modus operandi. Letters were written soon after the killings to police and to local news outlets, boasting of the crimes and knowledge of details. After a long hiatus, these letters resumed in 2004, leading to his arrest in 2005 and subsequent conviction.

Por primera vez en la historia del cine, una película sale sin su título cuando se la empezó a promocionar, para darle más misterio al de por sí ya misterioso monstruo de JJ Abrahms. Vi algunas partes salteadas, de alguien que la filmó en el cine (no es lo recomedable) y realmente promete y mucho.
